We’re expanding!

Word is out! Nourish is opening a second branch in Magdalen Road and we’re very excited.

With the Topsham shop proving so successful since opening in March last year, Sarah has been on the lookout for another location – and what could be better than independent shopping destination Magdalen Road, recently named as one of “10 cool shopping districts around the world” in the Guardian, no less.

It seems that karma had a part to play when Phil and Stella Brock, who have been running wholefood shop The Bran Tub for 30 years, made plans to retire. Phil and Stella felt strongly that Nourish was the right retail model to take over from them. Existing staff members of The Bran Tub have been invited to stay on and be part of the new journey for the shop.

Magdalen Road offers astute shoppers the chance to bypass supermarket shopping entirely if they want to. Sarah says it’s like having an entire shop on a single street; with a greengrocer, fishmonger, butcher, deli and soon to come Nourish, where shoppers can purchase dry goods, fresh products and environmentally friendly non consumables and bring their own reusable containers to fill.

Having two stores to choose from will help customers from a wider area begin to change their shopping habits, lessening reliance on single use plastic packaging and other waste materials.

The benefit for existing customers in Exeter who previously had to make a special journey to Topsham is that they will now be able to walk or cycle to Nourish in Magdalen Road, and for those who still need to drive, the new shop is conveniently positioned opposite a block of free half hour parking bays.

To help Nourish with this next step, Sarah is delighted to have a new business partner, Stavros Stratas. Stavros was looking for just such a business opportunity and felt the chance to join the Nourish family was simply “too good to pass up”.

Watch this space for more updates. We take possession on April 1st, no less, and will be refurbishing the shop and adding some Nourish magic before opening in mid-April.
